My Lovely Ovaries To Me Still Quite Attached

For women who might appreciate this spontaneous verse, or even be comforted by it at some similar juncture in their lives. It was written for wife last night, following a partial hysterectomy.

                      - My Lovely Ovaries To Me Still Quite Attached -

My lovely ovaries

To me still quite attached;

My uterus however,

Was summarily dispatched!

 

A harborer of children

 By no egg conceived -

Five fibroids so sinister -

My uterus was deceived!

 

Though it served me well

For twenty plus eight years,

Now it and its unruly guests are gone

And took with them my tears.
